Huh. . .Charlie really is missing part of his ear. . .I guess it is Romeo, and it might just be what happened to the ship he was on, or how he got off it.
*My* question is, … what exactly is the mechanic for absorption? I’m not saying it’s inconsistent in story, it’s just a mystery! :)
I do like how the compass gets pulled in. I liked the sword too.
jeeze. I need to go back and comment on the others!
“dutch angles”? I wish to know to what you refer… >_>
I’m not a comic artist/artist at all, so any thing I can scrounge from people who seem to know about such (in a topical manner) is good imo.
(My guess is the architecture of the Netherlands, which, I admit familiarity with, however, IANAnA.)
Check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_angle
I’m no expert, but I think the term applies here. The slants certainly made me feel off-balance, like things are about to come unhinged. :)
( I wonder if the bottom of this page will be physically cut in the print version? )
Thanks! I had heard of them before in reference to film, apparently. Leave it to me to be annoyed at forgetting what amounts to trivia. :)
I agree, the paper-slice would be interesting, and it wouldn’t/shouldn’t be a big deal in ‘small’ runs (ie less than 10k copies!)
Love it. Evokin’ stigmata with that melting hand hole in panel 9. Also the tilt in the second-to-last and the eyes peeking out of the pain-shadows in the last.
Charlie, as ever, is relentlessly positive. He remains my favorite non-bear character
We’re very close to being back in our groove. The choppiness should end soon. Flats for now, full colors soon!
(Oh no, poor Diver!)
For some reason I really like Diver’s hand against his squishy cheeks in panel 10. >u>
Jesus. I wish my flats looked this stylish.
That last panel is just an awesome, awesome capture.
Romeo: “the way is off my ship”
hmm. do you think this will be a flashback of how that bully died?
Huh. . .Charlie really is missing part of his ear. . .I guess it is Romeo, and it might just be what happened to the ship he was on, or how he got off it.
Oh wow. I think I may actually be in love with the last panel.

Could this negative emotion be bad enough to manifest on the Diver’s body, like those holes in his back?
I really like the slanted frames of the last two panels. Classy dutch angles!

I guess we’ll find out if it gets physically cut off or not when it prints. It would be cool if it did, I think.

Snap! Bet you’re right with the stigmata reference. I sure hope the Diver eventually rises from the dead!
…is Charlie not wearing pants in that second to last panel?
When did all those pages came up in full colour? Last panel now definitely rocks a ton!
What a great expression indeed!
