I frikkin LOVE the white board. He drew Foxtrot and himself with a bunch of hearts, then he drew Bravo and Alpha, one of which used the sword to replace a line, and drew either Hotel or Kilo above them, presumably Hotel! Gosh, I wonder what kind of things have been on his mind lately? So cute!
Pills? Now I’m wondering if this whole story is a trip. It would certainly explain the unreality. Then again, I suppose that he could be dreaming about pills because he feels that his current reality seems like a trip.
I did not notice until this page that Charlie has a piece of his left ear missing! I guess he was always facing the right angle, or I’m just blind, haha.
Also, I had to double-check; I guess the book called him ‘The Diver’. I was wondering why Charlie would call him that (and he would accept it), but now it makes sense!
Another aspect with a mysterious bullet hole? Remember the bear, bullet wound on the right shoulder and way to much colour to be anything but an aspect. Now where’s that suspicious bird got to
… Does anyone else have this really huge urge to reread House of Leaves? I just sat down and read all of Alpha Flag – and now have an urge to read it again and take notes.
Utterly fantastic.
(Also, can’t shake the odd DID that Diver seems to have, seeing as how the identities are on the OUTSIDE as opposed to the INSIDE. Perhaps, maybe.)
This comic is absolutely beautiful- the lineart and coloring flow so well with the thus far intriguing plot and make every bit of it a true work of art.
I’m also familiar with the NATO phonetic alphabet and maritime signal flags, and I have to say that I’m really impressed with the research done into these things for this comic. I’m infinitely excited to meet Victor, especially with the interesting messages he leaves on his page, and I’m curious about Foxtrot and their relation to Charlie.
I enjoy Charlie’s apron, mostly because of the suggestion that he has a Charlie-themed outfit for every eventuality.
That is probably the best image I’ve ever gotten in my head.
Wait until you see the BWRWB-banded fez.
Fezes are cool.
One of my favorite parts of this page is how Charlie is calmly sitting down, conversing with the Diver, and then…
Surprise! I am standing, sans apron! Plus coat! And so excited! Hooray!
I tried looking at the page by covering the Diver and seeing only Charlie, and then the opposite. Two totally different comics going on here.
Hahaha I know! it’s insane. But so delightful.
aw but charlie worked so hard on those pancakes ;o;
You can have them, if you’d like!
I’m really liking the diver’s expressions on this page, especially in the eyebrow region.
Does that dry erase board in the background of panel 1 have a bunch of aspect themed images on it?
Indeed. Hotel can only generate white or red markers, though, so it’s not color accurate.
I do love how it seems to imply that Foxtrot has a crush on Charlie. Assuming that trail of hearts means anything.

The Diver reminds me slightly of Frank from the beginning of Little Miss Sunshine. Depressed and pensive.

He always had the missing piece of his ear…can’t believe I didn’t notice.
Actually…I can believe…
Love this comic for all the details and mysteries!

omg has that frowny face on the bottom left of the website always been there? )8 it scares me.
omg now there’s a smiley face D8
the frowny face has changed, it used to say “i hate you’ with a blue checkered pattern..
i know and then i clicked it :c the smiley face still says “i hate you” in the middle of the image, though. i wonder what these clues mean D:
so conflicting!
The flags on the white bored is the best thing ever.
